Many US security experts are perplexed by the recent claim by the Pakistani Taliban that it was behind the failed bomb attack in NY city. Unlike the Afghanistan Taliban, which has been waging war against the US and its allies in Afghanistan, the Pakistani Taliban, whose goal is to destabilize Pakistan, is not know to have a global reach and has seen their ranks decimated since the killing of the group’s senior leaders by Pakistani forces.
One security expert was more blunt about their claims. “They are just liars. Every time there is an attempted bombing or attack, they rush to claim responsibility. No one believes them” , the security expert told us.
“We all know that the Afghanistan Taliban is a bunch of cowards who used suicide bombers to kill civilians”, another security expert told us, “however the Pakistani Taliban, is not only a coward but a stupid group for consistently taking responsibility for failure”, the expert added.
In the meantime, search is ongoing for the capture of the perpetrator of the attempted attack, that many believe fits into a pattern of homegrown and lone wolf extremism.
Asked about the bomb claims by the Pakistani Taliban, an official with the Obama administration told us that ‘the Pakistani Taliban is Not Much of Expert on Intelligence, Competence, Bravery and Verity Issues’
